Job summary

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center's Emergency Department in Tucker, GA is hiring a Paramedic for full-time day shifts. The 38-bed ED sees about 160 patients daily and is a primary Stroke and STEMI receiving facility.

You will work under RN/MD supervision, perform EKGs, start IVs/IOs, draw blood, administer medications, and monitor patients. BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred with certification timelines. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as a Paramedic preferred.
• BCLS, ACLS required; PALS required with certification within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of intramuscular, sublingual, oral, rectal, nebulizer, IV, IV push meds and related protocols.
• Knowledge of neurological, respiratory, cardiac, GI, trauma assessment systems.
• Provide safe patient care with age-appropriate and culturally aware needs; work with RN/Physician.
• Perform EKGs.
• Perform Foley catheters.
• Start IVs, IOs and draw blood.
• Transport patients to other departments.
• Monitor for arrhythmias and report changes to Charge Nurse/Nurse.
• Strong communication and multitasking in a team setting.
