Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration is seeking a Mitigation Technician to respond to fire, water, mold, sewer, and storm damage in Wilmington/Jacksonville, NC. You will stabilize properties, prevent further damage, and provide compassionate service during stressful situations.

Join a field-based, full-time team where you’ll perform water extraction, drying, decontamination, and material removal while collaborating with project managers and the Contents Division.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varying environments.
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service mindset.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete onsite documentation using a smartphone and industry software (PSA, Encircle, Docusketch).
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
• Must safely wear PPE including respirator when required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage.
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards.
• Remove and dispose of damaged materials safely.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected spaces.
• Coordinate with Contents Division to manage salvageable items.
• Document job progress with photos and notes in PSA and other software.
• Communicate with clients with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain a clean, safe job site at all times.
• Operate and store tools and equipment properly.
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols with daily consumables tracking.
• Collaborate with project managers and crew chiefs.
