Job summary

Fortify Companies’ Insurcomm Restoration division seeks a Mitigation Technician to provide emergency restoration services for homes and small businesses in Wilmington/Jacksonville, NC. You will stabilize properties, perform water extraction, drying, and decontamination while delivering professional, compassionate service in stressful times.

You’ll document work using PSA, Encircle, Docusketch, and other industry software, and collaborate with project managers and crews to protect assets and

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification and pass requirements.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools for restoration work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and safety-mindedness.
• Ability to document onsite work using industry software on a smartphone.
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
• Must wear PPE, including respirator, as required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess damage.
• Perform water extraction, drying, and mitigation per standards.
• Remove and dispose of damaged materials safely.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize spaces.
• Collaborate with Contents Division to manage salvageable items.
• Document progress with photos and notes using PSA and software.
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites.
• Set up, operate, and store tools and equipment properly.
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols and track consumables.
