Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration, part of Fortify Companies, seeks a Mitigation Technician to respond to fire, water, mold, and storm incidents. You will stabilize properties, prevent further damage, and deliver professional service during stressful times.

This field-based, full-time position in Wilmington/Jacksonville, NC offers hands-on restoration work, a collaborative team, and ongoing training and certification support. Ideal for proactive individuals with strong customer service mindset.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Strong social awareness and customer service mindset
• Valid driving record
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete onsite documentation using device apps (Proven Jobs, Encircle, Docusketch)
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude
• Must wear and work in required PPE including a respirator when needed

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess damage from fire, water, mold, and weather events
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards
• Remove and dispose of damaged materials safely
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected spaces
• Coordinate with Contents Division to clean, pack, and store salvageable items
• Document progress with photos and notes using PSA and other software
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
• Operate, clean, and store tools and equipment properly
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols with daily consumables documentation
• Collaborate with project managers and crew chiefs on projects
