Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration, part of Fortify Companies, seeks a Mitigation Technician in Wilmington, NC to perform emergency restoration services for fire, water, mold, and storm damage. You will stabilize properties, limit further damage, and deliver professional customer service during stressful situations.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong social awareness and customer service mindset.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete onsite documentation using a smartphone and industry software (Proven Jobs, Encircle, Docusketch).
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
• Must be able to safely wear and work in required PPE, including a respirator.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage from fire, water, mold, and weather events.
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards.
• Remove and dispose of damaged building materials safely.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected interiors.
• Collaborate with Contents Division to clean, pack, and store salvageable items.
• Document job progress with photos and notes using PSA and other required software.
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe job site at all times.
• Set up, operate, clean, and store tools and equipment.
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols, including daily consumables documentation.
• Work collaboratively with project managers and crew chiefs.
