Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration, part of Fortify Companies, is seeking Mitigation Technicians in Wilmington, NC to respond to fire, water, mold, and storm damage. You stabilize properties, perform extraction and drying, and coordinate with team members to protect belongings.

This field-based role requires physical stamina, tool proficiency, and a customer-service mindset. Training and PPE are provided; IICRC/WRT certifications are supported for growth.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Strong communication and customer service mindset.
• Valid driving record and reliable attendance.
• Familiarity with PSA or similar job management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess damage from fire, water, mold, and storms.
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation according to IICRC standards.
• Remove and dispose of damaged building materials safely and efficiently.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected spaces.
• Collaborate with Contents Division to clean, pack, and store salvageable items.
• Document job progress through photos and notes using PSA and required software.
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
• Set up, operate, clean, and store tools and equipment properly.
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols, including daily consumables documentation.
• Work with project managers, crew chiefs, and team members.
