Job summary

Fortify Companies is seeking a Field-Based Mitigation Technician in Rockville, MD to provide emergency restoration services for fire, water, mold, and storm damage. You will stabilize properties, prevent further damage, and deliver professional, compassionate service during stressful situations.

You will work with project managers and the Contents Division, perform water extraction, drying, and debris removal, and document progress using PSA and other software.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Strong social awareness and customer service mindset
• Acceptable driving record
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete onsite documentation using a smartphone and industry software
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude
• Must safely wear and work in required PPE including a respirator

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess damage from fire, water, mold, and weather events
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards
• Remove and dispose of damaged building materials safely
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected spaces
• Collaborate with Contents Division to pack and store salvageable items
• Document job progress with photos and notes using PSA and other software
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
• Set up, operate, clean, and store tools and equipment
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols with daily consumables documentation
• Work with project managers, crew chiefs, and team members
