Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration, part of Fortify Companies, is hiring a Mitigation Technician in Rockville, MD. This field-based, full-time role focuses on emergency restoration services for fire, water, mold, sewer, and storm damage, stabilizing properties and minimizing further loss while delivering compassionate service.

You will work with project teams, use industry software, and maintain safety protocols. Training and PPE are provided to ensure effective on-site responses.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Strong social awareness and customer service mindset
• Acceptable driving record
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to use smartphone and industry software (Proven Jobs, Encircle, Docusketch) for onsite documentation
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude
• Must be able to wear PPE including respirator as required

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess damage from fire, water, mold, and weather events
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards
• Remove and dispose of damaged materials safely
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize interiors
• Collaborate with Contents Division to manage salvageable items
• Document job progress with photos and notes using PSA and other software
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe job site
• Set up, operate, and store tools and equipment safely
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols with daily consumables tracking
• Work with project managers and crew chiefs
• Provide on-site documentation and reporting
