Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network seeks a mental health crisis intervention specialist to perform intake assessments in the ED/Walk-In Center and coordinate referrals to the appropriate level of care.

Qualifications

• Direct clinical mental health/crisis intervention experience required (1 year minimum).
• Experience with case management/utilization review and managed care models preferred.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in human services with relevant experience; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments for patients with mental health needs in the Emergency Department and/or Walk-In Center.
• Coordinate referrals to appropriate level of care with care teams and ensure appropriate placement.
• Serve as a liaison for other hospital/network sites to support patient care and flow.
• Demonstrate understanding of Mental Health regulations regarding patient rights and admission status (voluntary/involuntary).
• Demonstrate skills in verbal de-escalation and support for agitation/violent behavior as part of the care team.
