Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is partnering with a premier regional facility to recruit a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician for Mattoon, Illinois. The selected candidate will join a double-physician coverage model with a predictable 15-shift per month schedule across three 10-hour blocks and a strong focus on work-life balance.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license (or eligibility).
• Valid DEA registration.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-oriented co-coverage mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency medical care in a modern 32-bed ED.
• Maintain a pace averaging fewer than two encounters per hour.
• Collaborate with a second on-duty physician for double-coverage.
• Stabilize and coordinate transfers for high-acuity trauma and cardiac cases.
• Work a rotation of 15 shifts per month in three 10-hour blocks.
• Coordinate care with on-site specialties including inpatient psychiatry.
• Maintain thorough electronic medical records for all encounters.
