Job summary

Your Talent Team in Mattoon, IL is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for a full-time hospital-employed position. Three 10-hour shifts per day, 15 shifts per month, with a double-physician coverage model and a workload designed to reduce burnout.

Compensation is $475,000 per year, with a generous sign-on and retention bonuses and comprehensive benefits including malpractice, health/dental/vision, and retirement plan.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (or extensive ED experience).
• Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license (or immediate eligibility).
• Valid DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients within a modern, 32-bed Emergency Department.
• Manage a highly comfortable patient pace averaging fewer than two encounters per hour.
• Collaborate with a second on-duty physician, maintaining double-physician coverage at all times.
• Efficiently stabilize and coordinate transfers for high-acuity trauma and major cardiac cases to tertiary care partners.
• Work a predictable rotation of 15 shifts per month utilizing three structured 10-hour blocks (6:00 AM–4:00 PM, 1:00 PM–11:00 PM, or 4:00 PM–2:00 AM).
• Coordinate patient care with on-site specialties, including inpatient psychiatric department.
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely electronic medical records for all patient encounters.
