Job summary

Talent With Heart partners with a premier regional facility in Mattoon, IL to recruit a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician. This role offers a highly lucrative compensation package and a balanced, low-burnout clinical pace within a double-physician coverage model.

Expect three 10-hour shifts (6a–4p, 1p–11p, 4p–2a) across a 15-shift monthly schedule, with comprehensive benefits including significant sign-on and retention bonuses and robust malpractice and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited program.
• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or BC/BE with extensive ED experience.
• Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license (or eligibility).
• DEA registration required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care in a modern 32-bed ED.
• Maintain a patient pace averaging fewer than two encounters per hour.
• Collaborate with a second on-duty physician to ensure double-coverage.
• Stabilize and coordinate transfers for high-acuity trauma and major cardiac cases.
• Work a rotating 15 shifts per month across three 10-hour blocks (6a–4p, 1p–11p, 4p–2a).
• Coordinate patient care with on-site specialties, including psychiatry.
• Maintain thorough EMR documentation for all encounters.
