Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (or extensive ED experience).
• Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license or immediate eligibility.
• Valid DEA registration.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency medical care in a 32-bed ED.
• Manage a patient pace averaging fewer than two encounters per hour.
• Collaborate with a second on-duty physician for double-coverage.
• Stabilize and coordinate transfers for high-acuity trauma and cardiac cases.
• Work a rotation of 15 shifts per month across three 10-hour blocks (6:00–16:00, 13:00–23:00, 16:00–02:00).
• Coordinate patient care with on-site inpatient psychiatry.
• Maintain thorough, timely electronic medical records.
