Joseph Michaels International is partnering with a premier regional facility in Mattoon, IL to recruit a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician. Board Certified or Board Eligible candidates will work three 10-hour shifts per month with double-physician coverage and a 32-bed ED.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school.
• Board Certification or Eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license or immediate eligibility.
• Valid DEA registration.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care in a 32-bed ED.
• Maintain low patient encounter pace (fewer than two per hour).
• Collaborate with a second on-duty physician for double-coverage.
• Stabilize and coordinate transfers for high-acuity trauma and major cardiac cases.
• Work a predictable 15 shifts per month in three 10-hour blocks.
• Coordinate care with on-site inpatient psychiatry and other specialists.
• Maintain thorough electronic medical records for all encounters.
