Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Unit Technician to support nursing staff with patient care on the unit in Minnesota. The role includes 24/7 surveillance and data interpretation of heart rhythm, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry for inpatients, under licensed medical supervision.

The position requires 18+ years old with a Nursing Assistant background or equivalent, basic computer skills, strong communication, and teamwork. BLS certification is part of orientation and required before first day.

Qualifications

• 18 years old and completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
• Excellent organizational, communication, writing and listening skills.
• BLS certification included in orientation program; required prior to first day in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care to support nursing practice on the unit.
• Monitor patient parameters and perform ECGs and splinting in the ED as directed.
• Collaborate with nursing and consultants/providers when parameters are abnormal or critical.
• Identify and activate medical emergencies response plans and perform assigned duties.
