Mayo Clinic in Minnesota seeks Unit Technician to support nursing staff on the Cardiac and Emergency Department units. You will perform designated tasks under licensed professionals, assist with patient care, and help ensure timely response to changes in patient conditions.

Qualifications include 18+ years or 12 college credits with Nursing Assistant training or equivalent, basic computer skills, strong communication, and BLS certification before starting.

Qualifikationen

• 18 years old and completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills required. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines required.
• Must demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, writing and listening skills. Ability to work effectively in a team setting and be flexible required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required. BLS certification included in orientation program; successful completion required prior to first day in patient care.

Aufgaben

• Assist with patient care on the unit under the direction of a registered nurse and licensed medical professional.
• The Cardiac Unit Technicians provide 24/7 surveillance, analysis and interpretation of patient’s heart rhythm patterns, blood pressure and pulse oximetry for inpatients.
• The ED Technician collaborates with nursing and providers when patient parameters are abnormal or critical; performs ECGs and splinting as directed.
