Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking Part Time Unit Technicians to support nursing care on the unit and in the ED. You will perform ECGs, assist with patient care and help ensure patient safety under licensed professionals.

Candidates must be 18+, have 12 college credits or a high school diploma with Nursing Assistant training; basic computer skills, strong teamwork and communication, and BLS completion before starting patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and have 12 college credits or a high school diploma/GED with Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, communication, writing and listening skills.
• Team-oriented and flexible.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• BLS certification included in orientation; required before first day in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under the supervision of a nurse.
• Support unit nursing practice and cardiac/ED duties as assigned (ECGs, splinting).
• Collaborate with nursing and providers when patient parameters are abnormal or critical.
• Identify and respond to emergencies as directed; assist with monitoring procedures.
