Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Unit Technician/ED Technician to support the nursing team on the cardiac unit. You will perform assigned duties under supervision of a registered nurse and licensed professionals, including ECGs and continuous monitoring.

Responsibilities include collaboration with the nursing staff during emergencies, basic patient care tasks, and ensuring timely data entry and communication.

Qualifications

• 18 years old and 12 college credits OR HS diploma with Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
• Excellent organizational, communication, writing and listening skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and be flexible.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• BLS certification included in orientation; must be completed before first day.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed professional.
• Provide 24/7 surveillance, analysis and interpretation of patient heart rhythm and vitals.
• Perform ECGs and splinting; respond to emergencies per plans.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and consultants when patient parameters are abnormal.
