Qualifications

• 18 years old and completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines required.
• Must demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, writing and listening skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and be flexible required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• BLS certification included in orientation program; successful completion required prior to first day in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care to support the nursing practice.
• Carry out designated activities within scope of unlicensed nursing personnel.
• Support Cardiac Unit surveillance and interpretation of patient heart rhythm patterns and vitals.
• Collaborate with nursing and consultants for abnormal or critical parameters.
• Perform ECGs and splinting as directed in the ED setting.
