Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Supervisor of Emergency Department Patient Access to lead the registration operations at the Akron Campus and the Rocky River Emergency Department, with regular travel between sites.

You will drive staff coaching, scheduling, and performance management, ensure accurate patient identification and insurance verification, and oversee Epic registration workflows to maintain data integrity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressively responsible Patient Access or hospital registration experience.
• Three years of supervisory experience; leadership experience may be waived with ten years of progressive leadership.
• Advanced knowledge of Epic registration applications and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day ED Registration operations at two campuses, ensuring efficiency and standardization.
• Travel between Akron and Rocky River sites to provide leadership presence and staff coaching.
• Mentor staff, manage scheduling, attendance, and performance; monitor key metrics and implement improvements.
• Ensure EMTALA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMS, and payer requirement compliance in registration processes.
• Oversee patient identification, demographic collection, and insurance verification accuracy.
