Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Rio Rancho, NM is hiring a Patient Access Advocate I for the Emergency Department. You will perform patient registration, verify demographics and insurance, and collect time-of-service liabilities to ensure accurate billing.

You will provide high-quality customer service using CARES and AIDET tools, handle escalations, educate patients on benefits, and maintain compliance with CMS guidelines and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CHAA/CHAM preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or customer service is desired.
• Basic understanding of insurance and medical terminology preferred.
• Proficient in registration procedures and healthcare data entry.
• Strong keyboarding and MS Office skills; EPIC proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, collect demographics and insurance data accurately.
• Verify eligibility and benefits; document actions in the system.
• Educate patients on insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
• Ensure accounts are financially cleared at time of service.
• Provide CARES-based customer service and handle escalations.
