Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Patient Access Advocate I for the Emergency Department, overnight 12-hour shifts. The role focuses on patient registration, demographic and insurance data collection, and ensuring accurate billing at the point of service.

You will verify insurance, educate patients on benefits, and maintain clear documentation for audit trails while delivering high-quality customer service and guiding patients through the process.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months in healthcare or 1 year in customer service preferred.
• Complete Patient Access Academy (2 weeks) with 85%+ within 6 months.
• CHAA/CHAM or equivalent certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of insurance preferred.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and billing codes (DRG, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
• Registration and healthcare knowledge expected.
• Strong keyboarding skills mentioned.

Responsabilidades

• Provide exceptional patient experience using CARES, AIDET and EPE tools.
• Resolve complaints in the moment with de-escalation techniques.
• Manage conflicts and escalate when needed.
• Apply PROMISE and CARES behaviors in every encounter.
• Educate patients about insurance benefits and liabilities.
• Ensure accounts are financially cleared at time of service.
