Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a Patient Access Advocate I-Emergency Department in Rio Rancho, NM. You will register patients, verify insurance, and collect demographics at the point of service while delivering excellent customer service.

You will work 12-hour shifts in a full-time role, ensuring accurate billing data and compliance with CMS guidelines. Prior insurance knowledge and EPIC proficiency are valued assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months healthcare or 1 year customer service experience.
• Complete Patient Access Academy with 85%+ within 6 months of start.
• CHAA/CHAM or other industry certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of insurance, billing codes, CMS guidelines.
• EPIC proficiency test with 85% score required.
• Strong keyboarding and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient experience using CARES, AIDET and EPE tools.
• Resolve complaints in the moment using de-escalation strategies.
• Register patient data accurately and collect demographics.
• Verify insurance eligibility and document actions in the system.
• Educate patients on insurance benefits and financial liabilities.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with policies.
