Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is expanding its Emergency Department and hiring nurses to join a large, trauma-focused team. The role uses the nursing process to promote health, prevent illness, and support patients and families in a high-volume ED setting.

Shifts include full-time and part-time AM/PM, weekends; schedules run 7 a.m.-7 p.m. or 7 p.m.-7 a.m. Eligible staff receive education support, generous PTO, wellness programs, and PSLF eligibility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• 2+ years in psychiatric nursing, psychiatric emergency nursing, or correctional nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; BSN preferred.
• Licensed as an RN in Alabama or eligible; BLS required or to be obtained within 30 days.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care using the AACN Synergy Model to guide assessment and interventions.
• Delegate, coordinate, and manage nursing care for patients and families.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists and other team members to ensure quality care.
