Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is expanding its Emergency Department and seeks registered nurses with strong clinical judgment. The role requires use of the nursing process to promote health, assess needs, and coordinate care with the care team. Training includes ACLS/PALS as needed, and PSLF-eligible benefits may apply.

Shifts include full-time and part-time AM/PM, weekends, with 7 a.m.–7 p.m. or 7 p.m.–7 a.m. schedules.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience preferred in psychiatric nursing, psychiatric emergency nursing, or correctional nursing.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• If in a free-standing ED (FSED), 1 year of emergency or ICU nursing experience is required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS required or to be obtained within 30 days; ACLS and/or PALS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care and/or counsel individuals in health promotion and illness/injury prevention.
• Deliver patient care in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team under licensed physician, psychologist, podiatrist, or dentist supervision.
