Job summary

The Registrar will verify insurance details, collect estimates and co-pays, document all necessary information, and coordinate with clinicians to support timely care. A healthcare background and strong HIPAA knowledge are assets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred: 1–2 years.
• Customer-facing role experience encouraged.
• CHAA or CRCR certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in ED and perform accurate demographic collection.
• Verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and explain financial responsibilities.
• Collect co-pays and estimates; assist self-pay patients with mandated disclosures.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Coordinate with medical staff for smooth patient flow and admissions.
• Provide discharge information and assist with follow-up scheduling.
