Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferred

Responsabilités

• Greets patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner
• Registers patients for emergency services and collects required information
• Verifies patient identification and insurance details and updates records
• Obtains signatures on consent forms and explains each consent
• Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for billing
• Collects co-pays or deductibles and informs patients of financial obligations
• Assists patients with insurance questions and requirements
• Documents when a patient cannot sign and notes nursing sign-off
• Verifies insurance plan codes for accurate payment
• Compiles paperwork for quick retrieval and processing of visits
• Places patient armband for identification
• Notifies departments or physicians of patient arrival and follows up
• Maintains communication during emergency codes and alerts staff
• Performs other duties and maintains reliable attendance
• Complies with all policies and standards
