Job summary

Physicians Regional Healthcare System in Naples, FL, seeks an ER Registrar to manage patient intake and registration in the Emergency Department. You will verify personal, insurance, and medical details while delivering exceptional customer service to patients and families.

Four 10-hour shifts per week from 4PM to 2:30AM, supporting accurate documentation, insurance verification, and cross-team communication to ensure smooth department operations.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required.
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Registers patients for emergency services and collects required information.
• Verifies patient identification and insurance details and updates records as needed.
• Obtains signatures on consent forms and explains each consent prior to signing.
• Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collects co-pays or deductibles and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Maintains accurate documentation and communicates with clinical and admin teams.
• Places patient armbands and notifies departments of arrivals; supports emergency codes.
