Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care according to departmental requirements and standards of practice. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, the RN provides individualized, compassionate care using established models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients and families, aligning with the organization’s mission and values to ensure an exceptional patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

  • Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessment after interventions.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting care accurately and promptly.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to resolve issues proactively.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, medications, side effects, and follow-up care, translating complex terminology for clarity.
  • Guide patients and families on non-medical follow-up measures, such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing them for self-management.

Qualifications Required:

  • PALS certification within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year of start date.
  • Current Registered Nurse license.
  • Associate Degree required; BSN preferred, with 12 months enrollment and 24 months to complete.
  • ACLS or ACLS Instructor certification within 90 days of start date.
  • BCLS or BCLS Instructor certification within 30 days of start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or equivalent certification within 1 year of start date.
