Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department requirements and standards of practice. Collaborating with medical providers and other care team members, the RN offers individualized, compassionate care using models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients and families, embodying the organization’s values to ensure an exceptional patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered, documenting care in a timely manner.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving issues proactively.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care, translating complex terminology as needed.
• Guide patients and families on lifestyle changes and future self-management techniques.

Qualifications:

• PALS certification within 90 days of employment.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year.
• Registered Nurse license.
• Associate Degree required; BSN preferred, with 12 months enrollment and 24 months completion.
• ACLS or ACLS Instructor within 90 days.
• BCLS or BCLS Instructor within 30 days.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or equivalent within 1 year.
