Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care according to departmental requirements and standards of practice. In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, the RN provides individualized, compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients and families, embodying the organization’s values to ensure an exceptional patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting care thoroughly and promptly.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving issues proactively.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatments, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex terminology for clarity.
• Teach about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and self-management preparation.

Qualifications

• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Registered Nurse license.
• Associate Degree required; BSN preferred, with 12 months enrollment and 24 months completion.
• ACLS or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• BCLS or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or equivalent must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
