Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care according to the department's specific requirements and standards of practice. In collaboration with medical providers and care team members, the RN provides individualized, compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients, families, and caregivers, supporting the organization’s vision, mission, and values to deliver an exceptional patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers. Documents care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Responds promptly to patient requests, strives to anticipate needs, and resolves issues proactively.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for clarity.
• Prepares patients and families for future self-management through education on lifestyle changes and disease prevention.

Qualifications

• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Registered Nurse license.
• Associate Degree; BSN preferred and required, with 12 months enrollment and 24 months completion.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days.
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or similar training must be obtained within 1 year.
