Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and standards of practice. Collaborating with medical providers and care team members, the RN provides individualized, compassionate care using established models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s mission and values to ensure an exceptional patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

  • Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessment after interventions.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting care promptly and thoroughly.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for clarity.
  • Guide patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing them for self-management.

Qualifications Needed:

  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Registered Nurse license.
  • Associate Degree required; BSN preferred, with 12 months enrollment and 24 months to completion.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days.
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or equivalent must be obtained within 1 year.
