Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care according to department requirements and standards of practice. Collaborating with medical providers and team members, the RN provides individualized, compassionate care using models like “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients and families, supporting the organization’s mission to deliver an exceptional patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments.
• Perform procedures and monitor functions as ordered, documenting care thoroughly and promptly.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving issues proactively.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex terminology as needed.
• Guide patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up, such as lifestyle changes and disease prevention, preparing them for self-management.

Qualifications

• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Registered Nurse license.
• Associate Degree required; BSN preferred with 12-month enrollment and 24-month completion.
• ACLS or ACLS Instructor certification within 90 days.
• BCLS or BCLS Instructor certification within 30 days.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or equivalent within 1 year.
