Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with department requirements and standards of practice. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, the RN provides individualized, compassionate care using established models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients and families, supporting the organization’s mission and values to deliver excellent patient experiences and outcomes.

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
• Perform procedures and monitoring as ordered by medical providers. Document care promptly and thoroughly.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving issues proactively.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for clarity.
• Guide patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing them for self-management.

What qualifications are needed:

• PALS certification within 90 days of employment
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year
• Registered Nurse license
• Associate Degree required; BSN preferred with 12 months enrollment and 24 months completion
• ACL S or ACLS Instructor certification within 90 days
• BCLS or BCLS Instructor certification within 30 days
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or equivalent within 1 year
