Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital Emergency Department in Washington, DC seeks a Registered Nurse for its 62-bed Level I Trauma Center. Our ED delivers rapid, high-acuity care and works with board-certified emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, and skilled nurses in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize

Qualifications

  • Active DC RN license or eligibility
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
  • TNCC certification within 1 year of hire
  • 1+ year ED or critical care experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgement and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced ED
  • Perform assessments, plan and implement care
  • Administer medications and monitor responses
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on conditions and care
