Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital’s Emergency Department is a Level I Trauma Center providing advanced, rapid care for patients with life-threatening conditions. You will join a team of emergency physicians, NPs, and nurses delivering critical care around the clock in a 62-bed ED.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; DC RN license or eligibility required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC within 1 year of hire.
• 1 year of ED/critical care experience preferred; ability to work in a fast-paced trauma setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a dynamic ED environment.
• Perform assessments, develop and implement treatment plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and care plans.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research opportunities.
