Job summary

George Washington University Hospital in downtown Washington, DC, seeks a Registered Nurse for our Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department. You will provide critical care in a fast-paced environment, working with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality patient care.

The ED offers 62 beds, trauma and stroke care, and collaboration with multiple specialties to ensure seamless patient transitions and outcomes. A strong commitment to teaching and research is emphasized.

Qualifications

  • BSN or currently enrolled.
  • DC RN License, or eligibility.
  • At least 1 year of ED or critical care experience preferred.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required.
  • TNCC certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Exceptional clinical skills and judgment.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and react in emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in a dynamic ED setting.
  • Perform assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement care.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor responses.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, plans, and prevention.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research opportunities.
