Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital’s Emergency Department is a Level I Trauma Center in downtown Washington, DC. As an ED RN, you’ll provide critical care in a 62-bed unit, collaborate with specialists, and support fast-paced care for trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies.

You will work with a dedicated team to educate patients and families, participate in quality initiatives, and contribute to research in a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure required or eligible in DC.
  • BSN preferred or enrolled in BSN program.
  • Experience in emergency care is valued.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department.
  • Assess patients, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor responses.
  • Administer medications and assist with procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions and care plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement and research activities.
