Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for its Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department. You will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care to acutely ill and injured patients alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Candidates should hold a BSN (or be enrolled), possess DC RN licensure or eligibility, and have 1+ year ED/critical care experience. BLS/ACLS/PALS are required; TNCC within 1 year of hire is expected.

Qualifications

• BSN or currently enrolled.
• DC RN License, or eligibility.
• 1+ year ED or critical care experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• TNCC certification within 1 year of hire.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced ED.
• Perform rapid assessments and develop/implement care plans.
• Administer medications and perform procedures with monitoring.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, plans, and prevention.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and research opportunities.
