Job summary

George Washington University Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department in Washington, DC. The role involves delivering critical care, rapid assessments, and collaborative treatment in a high‑volume ED environment.

You will work with dedicated clinicians to ensure patient‑centered care, continuous learning, and participation in teaching and research initiatives within a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

• BSN or currently enrolled in a nursing program.
• DC RN license or eligibility required.
• Minimum 1 year of ED or critical care experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required.
• TNCC certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a busy emergency department.
• Perform assessments, develop and implement treatment plans.
• Administer medications and monitor treatments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and care.
• Participate in quality improvement and research opportunities.
