Job summary

Mercy Health in Perrysburg, OH seeks a Clinical Unit Leader for the Emergency Department to coordinate patient care on a designated unit and collaborate with the Clinical Manager to promote excellence in practice and patient experience.

The Lead RN/Charge Nurse will guide staff, oversee shifts, and ensure safety, quality, and efficient use of resources, while supporting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; active RN license in state of practice
• Current BLS certification; advanced certifications based on unit leadership responsibilities beneficial
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with 1 year in a high-acuity unit leadership role preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care on a designated unit in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
• Lead and mentor nursing staff; ensure safety, quality, and patient satisfaction on the unit.
• Manage staffing plans, assignments, and rounds to monitor patient safety and outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Oversee admissions, transfers, and discharges to maintain smooth patient flow.
• Serve as a clinical resource and role model; participate in interprofessional collaboration.
• Support quality monitoring and performance improvement initiatives on the unit.
