Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Unit Leader for the Emergency Department at Perrysburg. The lead RN/Charge Nurse coordinates patient care, mentors staff, and collaborates with the Clinical Manager to deliver high-quality, efficient care.

The role emphasizes safety, communication with families, and performance improvement, while managing resources and occupancy in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state where working, or by compact.
• Basic Life Support certification; Additional unit-specific certifications may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient care on a designated unit with the Clinical Manager.
• Adjusts staffing and assignments based on acuity and resources.
• Oversees unit operations in the absence of the unit leader.
• Maintains safety, infection control, and environmental standards.
• Communicates care plans with patients and families; rounds to ensure safety and quality.
• Acts as a clinical resource and mentor; supports interprofessional collaboration.
