Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Unit Leader at St. Charles Hospital to coordinate patient care on a designated unit and partner with the Clinical Manager to optimize outcomes and efficiency.

The Lead RN/Charge Nurse will mentor staff, oversee shift operations, and ensure safety, quality, and excellent patient experiences through collaborative practice and effective communication across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state you work or covered by compact.
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire)
• Certifications may be required based on unit managed (e.g., PALS, ACLS, ENPC).
• Experience leading nursing teams and coordinating care on a designated unit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care on a designated unit in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
• Adjust schedules and assignments to match acuity and resources.
• Mentor staff and serve as a preceptor when needed.
• Lead interprofessional collaboration to ensure care coordination and patient experience.
• Promote safety, infection control, and environmental standards.
