Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare's South Campus Emergency Department on Eastside campus in Snellville, GA, is seeking an Emergency Dept Flow Coordinator / Registered Nurse for full-time day shifts. The role directs patient flow, collaborates with MDs, coordinates admissions, and maintains ED operations.

Ideal candidates hold RN with BLS/ACLS/PALS; TNCC/ENPC/CEN/CPEN preferred. Emphasis on leadership, communication, and rapid triage in a high-volume ED.

Qualifications

• Must hold BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS certifications.
• Preferred TNCC, ENPC, CEN and CPEN certifications.

Responsibilities

• Direct priorities for patient flow and staffing in ED.
• Serve as a single point of contact for MDs and other providers.
• Coordinate patient placement with Mission Control for proper ED allocation.
• Monitor room availability and turnover.
• Coordinate orders, collections and procedures.
• Notify MD and other providers when a patient is ready for disposition.
• Liaise with other departments; monitor delays in labs, imaging, pharmacy and consults.
• Coordinate admissions and transfers.
• Maintain ED pods and enforce pod guidelines.
• Set priorities for patient placement and communicate with Bed Control.
• Support float staff in ED.
• Assist with triaging EMS patients.
