Job summary

National Public Safety Careers is seeking dedicated individuals to join our South Point, OH emergency communications program. This role involves taking 911 calls, confirming locations, and entering data into dispatch systems to support rapid response.

Ideal candidates will have strong listening and verbal communication skills, accuracy in typing, and the ability to follow established procedures. Training will cover call-taking and certification requirements, with various shifts possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous customer service or public safety exposure is helpful but not always required.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller’s callback information.
• Use approved questions to identify the nature and urgency of the situation.
• Enter accurate details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information promptly to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions only within training and certification.
