The position starts at $21.59 per hour and requires U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required; 18 years of age or older; high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communications skills in English: hearing, speaking, writing and comprehension.
• Keyboard skills with at least 35 words per minute; experience with computers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer non-emergency and emergency 9-1-1 calls and route to appropriate units.
• Monitor radio/teletype traffic and coordinate with police, fire and EMS.
• Review alarms and building safety systems; respond to weather and emergency alerts.
• Work nights, evenings, weekends, holidays; maintain logs and reports.
