Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent supplemented by related training or experience.
• Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
• Ability to multi-task under stressful conditions or emergencies while remaining calm and focused.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• General knowledge of emergency service organizations and functions, including care and use of electronic communications equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming 911 and other calls; broadcast response instructions to safety units.
• Provide emergency medical information to callers as necessary.
• Monitor radio frequencies and maintain communication channels.
• Operate CAD, LEDS and NCIC terminals and respond to field requests for information.
• Retrieve information from law enforcement records; ensure proper disclosure per law.
• Maintain departmental logs, forms and files and prepare reports as required.
• Type and file reports; disseminate/route records and reports.
