Job summary

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is hiring a 911 Dispatcher to serve a multi-county area, handling emergency and routine calls, gathering essential information, and dispatching responders. You will work with officers, EMS, and other agencies, ensuring accurate data entry and timely communications.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and SD 911 Basic, EMD, NCIC, and CJIS certifications (or the ability to obtain within 12 months).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain SD 911 Basic, EMD, NCIC and CJIS certifications within one year of hire.
• Ability to pass a physical exam, hearing test and pre-employment drug test.
• Familiarity with LEDS CAD and NCIC/NLETS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process emergency and routine calls for service.
• Page responders and provide radio dispatch for personnel.
• Track calls and maintain logs of responders and incidents.
• Coordinate with other agencies and relay critical information quickly.
