911 Emergency Communications is seeking skilled dispatchers to join its Mount Pleasant Mills operation. You will answer emergency and nonemergency calls, confirm locations and details, and coordinate police, fire, or medical responders per agency procedures.

The role requires calm communication and strong information organization under pressure. Ideal candidates may have a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and demonstrated active listening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is commonly required.
• Some agencies recruit entry-level applicants or require prior experience or current certifications.
• Typing, listening, communication, and basic computer skills are useful.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and nonemergency calls within the service area.
• Confirm addresses, callback numbers, incident details, and safety concerns.
• Assess call priority using approved questions and procedures.
• Enter incident information into dispatch systems.
• Dispatch responders when assigned to radio operations.
• Monitor radio traffic and update responders as circumstances change.
• Provide caller instructions within training and certification limits.
• Maintain records and protect confidential information.
